Norma’s Cafe on West  Davis in Dallas (Oak Cliff) is a holiday resource of hope for the local community and the Dallas community at large.   The cafe has provided a free Thanksgiving lunch to needy families and to the homeless, for the  last 21 years.

This year, CML had the privilege of decorating the tables for the Thanksgiving Lunch to make the meal a little more festive and inspiring.

Thirty-five hundred (3500) individuals were served on Thanksgiving Day , beginning at 11:00 am.

CML funded monthly birthday parties and purchased birthday gifts for families living in transitional housing, associated with Homestretch.

Homestretch is a non-profit organization located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Homestretch guides homeless working families with minor children in North Metro Atlanta toward increased self-reliance and stability by providing life-skills training, mentoring and supportive housing.

CML distributed personalized Christmas stockings and toys to children of  ”working poor” and “distressed” families, in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

HOLIDAY PROJECT

With the assistance of Pam Spell, the manager at Norma’s Cafe, an extremely generous donation of toys and stuffed animals were donated to CML’s “For the Children” Holiday Project.  The generous donations assisted CML in bringing joy to needy boys and girls in the Dallas metroplex.

One of the donated bicycles was donated to the Desoto Food Bank in support of their Angel Tree program, which provided Christmas gifts to needy children of their regular client families.

FOR THE CHILDREN HOLIDAY PROJECT

CML donated cute little girls’ boots to Captain Hope’s Kids, to be distributed to the homeless shelters they support.

Individual plastic shoe boxes were decorated for each pair of boots.   A fun goody was included in each box to make the donation a little more special, for the girls.

VALENTINE’S DAY HELP FOR DADS

CML provided gift cards to dads living in transitional housing  in Georgia for them to purchase Valentine’s gifts for their wives.

AFTER SCHOOL HELP

CML donated art supplies and made a cash donation to Heart House Dallas.

Heart House Dallas is a free after-school program dedicated to providing a safe haven and academic support to children of low-income families in the densely-populated Vickery Meadow community in Dallas, Texas.

FOR THE CHLDREN PROGRAM

ICE CREAM & SUMMER

CML, in partnership with The Vernon Wells Foundation, held an Ice Cream Social for the children at Jonathan's place, a shelter for abused children, on Friday, May 21, 2010.

The children were treated to ice cream  sundaes with toppings of their choice. The children had a great time decorating photo frames and playing with the disposable cameras and toys/games that were distributed to each child. After the social, the children were happy, tired and so appreciative.

Ice Cream and Sundae fixins were delivered to the children of Customize Learning Center, Dallas, TX, an Educational First Steps affiliate daycare center.

Through our “For the Children” Program, CML funds and plans monthly birthday parties for children, attending schools and daycare in low income areas and for children living in homeless shelters and in transitional housing, throughout the nation.

In addition to providing birthday cakes and party favors for the monthly parties, each child receives a birthday card and a small gift on his or her actual birthday.
